UNIX AIX back ground Need some one with UNIX Solaris 10 C back ground is a plus EMC storage back ground is a plus Desire is to be located close to downtown Oakland CA. Desire someone willing to travel 80 % and capable of being hired at the end of the first 6 month activity.Typical back ground traits / Experiences History: – Operational UNIX AIX Systems Administration history or history in the UNIX/IBM / AIX Architectural role for infrastructure in a mid range area supporting (IBM) AIX / P-Series mid range infrastructure servers. Must haves: – Some level of architectural experiences (formal or in formal) with AIX p-Series mid range and logical servers placement on a p-Series frame. (typically these are UNIX based machines that can be partioned – tend to fine people in the banking industry who have this type of experiences or in industries where there is an extension of a IBM mainframe onto a mid range platform on the front end of the mainframe for real time transactions like in the travel industry.)

Big – Plus if they have the following:

Know and have experiences with micro partioning
Know and have a working experiences with Dynamic L-Par knowledge and architecture/set up experiences in this space

This technology is IBM’s newest technology in the UNIX p-Series space…..so the most fruitful areas will be where they have IBM UNIX technology which is less than 12 months old (new refreshes, new account set ups, etc.).

Senior Project Engineer System Int.

Description:
A well established company in Huntington Beach, CA is currently seeking an experienced project engineer who can lead large scale System Integration projects and exercises high level judgment in the execution and oversight of these projects. Supports the System Integration efforts of SESC as the lad engineer in charge of the design and engineering work on specific systems integration projects. This involves doing system design work and coordinating and overseeing engineering consultants.

Responsibilities:
Executing the design work for the Systems Integration Department
Taking detailed measurements of proposed solar system sites
Doing layouts and detailed designs of PV systems and AutoCAD
Working with Structural and Electrical Engineering consultants on executing code-compliant designs
Generating system specifications and preparing bid documents.
Generating permit packages
Building detailed Bill of Materials
Generating project Gantt charts
Analyzing construction methodologies and cost structures
Interacting with and overseeing the work of subcontractors
Serving as the project manager for large scale PV System Integration projects
Performing cost analysis projections and reports
Working with the project sales personnel on presentations and technical matters
Reports to the Manager of SI Engineering

Requirements:
A bachelors or masters in engineering (electrical, mechanical or civil)
4-8 years in the construction industry in an engineering role preferably with an energy focus or from a Mechanical, Electrical, Structural or SVAC engineering firm
Experience with project management of large commercial projects
High proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project and Excel
Ability to generate construction plan-sets and specifications
Very good communication skills.
Hands-on construction experience a plus
Product design and experience is a plus
Solar experience a plus

We are looking for a Senior System Administrator will be able to directly support the operations of development computing environments as a Linux System Administrator and/or a Unix System Administrator. These activities will include system installation, configuration, integration, maintenance, performance management, data management, security management, failure analysis and recovery, and user support.

Candidate must be team oriented and be able to directly support the operations of 170+ servers and integrity of the Test and Development computing environments (large site), as a Linux System Administrator within a large System Administration Group. These activities will include system installation, configuration, integration, maintenance, performance management, data management, security management, failure analysis and recovery, and user support. Candidate will also support the following networks: ATM, 10/100/1000, HiPPI, NAS, SAN, Fiber Channel, NUMA Link and associated internetworking devices (FORE, CISCO, McData, and Essential).

Must be on call 24/7/365 to support a fast paced and dynamic environment and able to travel with short notice. Need to have applied knowledge in configuring internal systems such as routers, switches, firewalls and other security appliances. Applied knowledge of data communication systems including hardware, software and applications. Experience in using basic network devices like packet sniffers. Practical knowledge of all layers of the OSI network model and TCP/IP protocol suite. Applied knowledge of WAN and LAN technologies.

MUST POSSESS OR BE ABLE TO TRANSFER A GOVERNMENT SECURITY BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION FOR ACCESS TO CLASSIFIED INFORMATION.

Requirements:
Must have the following:

5-7 yrs of direct experience as a Linux System Administrator and or a combination as a Network Administrator.
Highly competent with networking/distributed computing environment concepts; can configure ATM, HiPPI, Ethernet, TCP/IP, NFS and other related technologies (e.g. IEEE 802.1q, 802.1w, 802.3ad), can perform network analysis, fault isolation, and understand routing concepts.
Capable of most Linux systems administration task (e.g. configuration of mail systems, system installation and configuration, printing systems, fundamentals of security, installing third-party software).
A solid understanding and working knowledge of a Linux-based operating system; understanding paging and swapping, inter-process communication, devices and what device drivers do, file system concepts, and able to use performance analysis to tune systems.

Familiarity with fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts; can configure NFS and LDAP, can use nslookup or dig to check information in the DNS, understands basic routing concepts.

Ability to solve problems at both the OS and hardware level.
Experience installing/configuring peripherals (for example, disks, modems, printers, or data acquisition devices).
Familiarity with board-level diagnosis and repair of computer systems.
Strong inter-personal and communication skills; capable of writing proposals or papers, acting as a vendor liaison, making presentations to customer or client audiences or professional peers, and working closely with upper management.

Working knowledge of NFS, LDAP, TCP/IP, DNS/BIND, DHCP, Sendmail, Veritas NetBackup, Networker and disk quotas.

Preferences:

BS/Technical discipline and a minimum of 4+ years of direct experience or a combination of 7 years of education and direct experience.

One or more of the following certifications: RHCE, CCNA, CCDA, CCNP, CCDP, CCIE, Solaris/LINUX or a creditable UNIX certification.
